- man the story is so good. I know it’s a children’s movie but it still flows so well. The dragon training montage split with the toothless play scenes is so compelling, engaging, and shows so much about character progress

- however, it just does worse in live action? I might need to rewatch to verify this though. A lot of the scenes feel shot for shot recreations but with less… spirit? Effectiveness? Believability?
- the begining scene felt a bit weak
- animation let’s characters be characterizes with no dialogue. Lost in sequel. Things come off as heavy handed. I also miss the ruff/tuff nut banter, and the trainer feels so much less interesting.
- Astrid felt weak. Not the actresses fault, I just didn’t buy her being tough. They showed much cooler stuff in the animation
